Events like the 5th Annual Wind Energy on 12-13 March 2025 are the place to be, as they bring together experts, practitioners, stakeholders, and leaders from Europe and the rest of the world within the Wind and Offshore industries enabling accelerated adoption of floating wind technology globally.

It offers the ideal space for networking with these players; senior managers, decision-makers, and practitioners operating in the industries and making the most of floating wind technologies.

Its a privilege when academia is involved and takes part in these discussions, as research is needed more than ever in this growing green energy field!

“Met drijvende windenergietechnologie getest in hybride labs kunnen we het gebruik van offshore windenergie in de energietransitie radicaal opschalen en versnellen,” zegt Axelle Viré, Full Professor of Floating Wind Energy aan de TU Delft in haar inaugurele rede op 16 februari 2024. “Maar we kunnen het niet zonder nieuwe manieren van samenwerken in diverse teams over disciplines en sectoren heen. Inclusief leiderschap is de sleutel om deze mensen samen te brengen.” Vire houdt haar inaugurele rede op vrijdag 16 februari 2024 om 15.00 uur in het Aula Congrescentrum van de TU Delft. Op die dag wordt ook het HybridLabs consortium dat zij leidt officieel gelanceerd. Bezoekers zijn welkom om de rede in Delft bij te wonen of een livestream of opname te bekijken.

NWA seeks connection with society

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), NWO realises the research programme of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA). The aim of the NWA is to utilise knowledge to make a positive, structural contribution to the society of tomorrow by building bridges today and working together to ensure scientific breakthroughs and societal impact. This is realised, for example, via an annual funding round for Research along Routes by Consortia (ORC). In the NWA-ORC, interdisciplinary consortia work on the portfolio of the 25 NWA routes thereby bringing scientific breakthroughs and societal impact within reach. The NWA encourages productive interactions and team science. Both the entire breadth of knowledge chain and relevant societal partners should be represented in the research projects.
