Hybrid Testing for Floating Wind Showcased at WESC 2025

In the last week of June, from the 24-27th, at WESC 2025 conference in Nantes, the Mini-Symposium on Hybrid Testing for Floating Wind was held, organised by three HybridLabs partners: Delft University of TechnologyEindhoven University of Technology, and the University of Twente.

The session attracted strong attendance and enthusiastic participation, sparking valuable discussions on the role of hybrid testing in accelerating floating wind technologies. Presentations covered a range of complementary experimental approaches, including physical model testinghardware-in-the-loop techniques, and testing in wind tunnels and wave basins.

As emphasized throughout the symposium, the next step aligns with the HybridLabs philosophy: Bringing these methods together to learn from each other and drive innovation forward.

Special thanks to the organisers and contributors, including Axelle Vire, Stefanie Gillmeier, Marijn Nijenhuis, Mathis Miroux, Anilcan Ulu whose expertise and presentations made the event a great success.
